Riding on the massive success of its online shows like Stranger Things and House Of Cards, the entertainment juggernaut wants to expand its services to all TV viewers in India.

Looking to integrate itself deeper into the one the fastest growing global markets, Asia, and for the most part India, Netflix is looking to join hands with major cable TV and DTH operators in an attempt to expand their numbers of television viewers.

Neflix India is also trying to figure out how they can get on these set-top boxes along with a customized remote control featuring a dedicated Netflix button.

As far as home entertainment goes, television is still the most preferred choice in India. As smart TV’s still have to take off, the average household still has cable TV and Netflix intends to invade those homes.

The key focus for them is generating Indian based content. As per reports, 42% of their subscribers in the Asia pacific region use a TV set to view their content and spend twice the amount of time that they would normally spend on their laptop and mobile.

The US based company has recently opened up their first India office in Mumbai, and are working on a number of functionalities like digital payments, content and production, marketing and business development.
