Online fashion portal Myntra has tied up with Goonj to enable the customers to exchange their old clothes for Myntra points through ‘Myntra Fashion Upgrade’, which is scheduled from November 21-24, the company said in a statement.

People can donate extra clothes, footwear, home furnishings and more against redeemable points that can be used to shop and upgrade their wardrobes. The extra points can be redeemed up to 15000/- on the next shopping from Myntra.

Speaking ab out the campaign, Ananth Narayanan, CEO, Myntra-Jabong, said, “Myntra Fashion Upgrade offers fashion shoppers a very unique opportunity to upgrade their wardrobes with the added satisfaction of giving away a small portion of their wardrobe for a cause. We expect more than 2 million units of clothing, footwear etc to be handed over by shoppers and over 1 million people participating in the event. We are extremely delighted to associate with GOONJ and appreciate their efforts towards channelizing resources for rural development and would like to urge shoppers to participate in this initiative.”

Goonj is a well-known NGO which has transformed  discarded items of urban households into a usable resource for villages & cities. It has brought ‘Clothing’ as one of the basic needs and part of the development agenda. Its founder Anshu Gupta was a winner of the prestigious Ramon Magsaysay award for 2015.
