Google’s new feed app which was introduced last year gets a new update as it will now split the UI into two sections. The update is focused on the knowledge graph’s capabilities to build on the browsing behaviour of users and produce a feed that caters to their commercial interests.

The new feed experience plans to make it easier to discover, explore and stay connected. The feed app offers users actionable ideas and advice on how to pursue their interests.

Google uses advanced machine learning algorithms to predict the user’s interests to accordingly provide information. It is an interaction and data point based algorithm that also considers surrounding shared interests and trends in the area.

The feed also pulls information from other apps to accurately and easily make information accessible. This includes syncing calendars, internet apps like Youtube, e-mail and much more.

The feed currently runs live in the Google app on Android and iOS, but Google intends to make it accessible on its homepage for all mobile and desktop users soon. This can mean that the Google homepage might also get a major face lift.
