Digital Mandate of Schwarzkopf Professional India awarded to Quasar Media

Schwarzkopf Professional, the maker of professional hair products, has awarded its digital mandate to Quasar in India. The multi-agency pitch saw participation from other leading agencies. The mandate will cover digital creative services, media planning/buying and content development.

Schwarzkopf Professional was launched by Henkel Spic India in September 2001.

Speaking on the new appointment, Kartik Kaushik, general manager, Henkel Beauty Care, India, said, “Quasar was awarded the business, given their deep insight of the digital space, and the willingness to align with our Henkel values of putting the customer and consumer first. Given that the India Salon Professional Market remains a big focus for Henkel in India, and digital play being a priority, Quasar presented us with a good strategy, leveraging all key aspects of the digital ecosystem.”

Quasar was formed in 2005 as part of the incubation programme at Smile Interactive Technologies Group (SITG), which provides promising start-ups with investment and mentoring. WPP. The second largest marketing communications group in the world acquired majority stake in digital agency Quasar in November 2007. This deal marked the first major investment by a global ad network in an independent digital agency in India.
