Meta tests auto-DM response for Instagram ad comments
A similar Reply to Keywords feature is already available via inbox automation and Meta Business Agent options.
Meta is trying out a new ad option that will auto-generate a DM message to any user who posts a selected keyword, or keywords, in a post comment on Instagram.
As outlined by Meta ads expert Jon Loomer, some Meta advertisers can now access a new Reply to Keywords option in their ad setup tools.
As noted in the description, Reply to Keywords lets advertisers “save time by automatically sending a private message when people comment with a keyword.”
Advertisers can choose up to five keywords to include, with each keyword triggering an auto-DM when posted in

X announces global launch of Lead Gen Ads
X has announced the launch of a new format, Lead Gen Ads, enabling advertisers to collect customer leads directly on the platform.
Rolling out globally, the in-platform feature is designed to convert real-time conversations, trends, and high-intent moments on X into leads more efficiently.
When a user is identified by a Lead Gen Ad, one tap opens a native form on X that can be completed and submitted for lead capture without leaving the platform. After the first submission, subsequent forms can be pre-populated.
X says the format is intended to cut the drop-off that typically comes with redirects, external landing pages and retyping forms, aiming to give advertisers more leads, higher lead quality, and lower cost per lead.
Lead Gen Ads supports a range of campaign goals including: booking demos and appointments, growing email lists and waitlists, capturing quote requests, sweepstake entries, and filling webinars, events and classes.
Google Adds DMs and Travel Recommendations to Demand Gen Ads
Google is expanding Demand Gen ads with new messaging, travel and AI creative tools aimed at helping advertisers drive more direct engagement.
The latest August Demand Gen Drop includes a test that lets viewers start conversations with brands through messaging apps directly from Demand Gen ads on YouTube.
Demand Gen Moves Closer to Action
The direct messaging option gives advertisers a shorter path from ad exposure to customer conversation. Instead of sending users only to a website or landing page, brands can move high-intent viewers into a chat experience where they can ask questions or continue the buying journey.
Google is also updating Demand Gen ads for travel. The format can now surface local activities, events and real-time offers, while personalized hotel ads will show more relevant properties to specific audiences.
The update is designed to make travel ads more useful during planning moments, when users may be comparing destinations, accommodations and things to do.
India says AI-generated art can get copyright, but AI cannot be the author
India’s Copyright Office has refused to register an artwork that named an artificial intelligence system as its author. It also held that the artwork itself is capable of copyright protection.
Those are two separate findings, and the second one matters more. Prof. (Dr) Unnat P Pandit, Controller General of Patents, Designs and Trade Marks, who heads the Copyright Office, found that the work met the originality requirement under Section 13 of the Copyright Act, 1957. Computational generation did not, by itself, defeat it. As reported by Bar and Bench, the order states:
“The fact that the work was generated through algorithmic or computational processes cannot, by itself, render the resulting expression unoriginal.”
What the Office rejected was the naming. DABUS — an AI system built by American computer scientist Stephen L Thaler — could not be entered as the author. Thaler, it held, was the person who caused the work to be created.
