LinkedIn tests option to report AI-generated ‘slop’ in posts and comments
The platform is deploying new classifiers to identify AI-generated or generally low-quality content, while it is also expanding the ability for users to flag posts or comments they believe appear to be AI-generated.
LinkedIn is testing a new option that allows users to report comments they believe are AI-generated “slop,” as the platform steps up efforts to limit automated and low-quality content.
The option is available through the three-dot menu at the top right of a comment. Users can select a prompt indicating that a comment “seems like AI slop.”
Sharing the update on the platform, Hari Srinivasan, Chief Product Officer, LinkedIn, said, “AI slop is a top priority for all of us. We really care about this. People come to LinkedIn to connect with real people and share their real perspectives, ideas and expertise.”
Anthropic expands in India, adding in-country inference for Claude
Anthropic has announced that its flagship frontier model, Claude, will soon offer in-country inference in India via Amazon Web Services (AWS) Bedrock. By routing and processing data on local Indian servers, the partnership allows highly regulated sectors—including banking, financial services, insurance (BFSI), telecom, and public administration—to deploy enterprise-grade AI while maintaining strict local data residency, compliance standards, and audit trails.
The move comes amid rapid expansion for Anthropic in India following the February opening of its Bengaluru office. Key domestic enterprises and IT giants—including Axis Bank, NPCI, IndusInd Bank, Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), Infosys, and Cognizant—are embedding Claude into critical infrastructure, ranging from enterprise knowledge platforms to global delivery networks. TCS alone is equipping 50,000 associates with Claude, while Infosys has established a dedicated Anthropic Center of Excellence to scale development.
Consumer platforms, startups, and public impact initiatives across India are also leveraging the technology across diverse applications. Companies like Swiggy, Zoho, Freshworks, and Atlan have integrated Claude for natural-language commerce and developer workflows. Concurrently, local inference capabilities are enabling sensitive public-sector and research deployments, supporting antivenom research at the Indian Institute of Science, digital agriculture initiatives like Digital Green, and cybersecurity testing through the Data Security Council of India (DSCI)

GoKwik and PayU debut ChatGPT shopping experience for D2C brands
GoKwik and PayU have launched what they describe as India’s first multi-brand D2C commerce experience integrated directly into ChatGPT, enabling consumers to discover, compare and purchase products from multiple direct-to-consumer (D2C) brands without leaving the chat interface.
The experience has gone live with early brands including Kriti Sanon’s Hyphen, Beardo and Kilrr, with GoKwik planning to onboard hundreds more brands through its merchant ecosystem.
Powered by GoKwik’s agentic commerce stack, consumers can search for products using conversational prompts, compare options, add items to cart, complete checkout and make payments within the same ChatGPT conversation. PayU powers the payments layer, supporting transactions through UPI, cards, net banking and wallets.
Snapchat shores up lead gen ads with new HubSpot integration
Snapchat is expanding its focus on lead generation through a new integration with HubSpot, a partnership that aims to help brands engage incremental Gen Z and millennial consumers on the messaging app. The tie-up with the CRM platform allows advertisers on Snapchat to more easily roll out native lead generation campaigns and automatically connect leads into HubSpot’s ecosystem to support long-term customer relationship management, Marketing Dive can share.
“We’ve been an underrated platform for generating leads, but Snapchat reaches a highly engaged, high-intent audience,” said Adrian Mulryan, Snap’s vice president of global agency and strategic accounts.
Here’s how the feature works: Snapchat advertisers can create a native lead generation campaign in just a few clicks while leads engaged through those efforts can be connected directly into existing HubSpot lists and sales pipelines via an API. Lead form fields from Snapchat will also be mapped onto HubSpot properties to facilitate an easier handoff from marketing teams to sales.
D2C Brands Capture 28 Percent Share of India Retail Leasing H1 2026: Report
Key sectors driving demand included fashion and apparel, food and beverage, entertainment, and jewellery. Within the D2C segment, fashion and apparel emerged as the leading category, accounting for nearly 69 percent of leasing, followed by homeware and furnishings at 12 percent and jewellery at 7 percent.
Direct-to-consumer (D2C) brands in India are steadily strengthening their offline presence, accounting for nearly 28 percent of total retail leasing activity in the first half of 2026, according to a report by CBRE South Asia Pvt. Ltd. This marks a notable rise from approximately 23 percent recorded in the same period last year, reflecting the growing importance of physical retail in the D2C playbook.
Overall retail leasing across the country rose 20 percent year-on-year to around 3.9 million sq. ft. during January–June 2026. The April–June quarter alone contributed close to 2 million sq. ft., indicating sustained momentum in retail expansion. Among cities, Delhi-NCR led leasing activity with a 35 percent share, followed by Chennai at 17 percent and Mumbai at 15 percent.
Google’s New AI Opt-Out Setting Could Also Cost You Top Stories Placement
Google is introducing a new Search Console setting, the generative search experiment control, which allows websites to be excluded from the AI Overviews, AI Mode, and Discover AI features while still being available in regular search results. This control became available for a limited number of UK website owners on 3 June 2026, after the Competition and Markets Authority required Google to provide such an option. Google announced that it would begin responding to this control from 17 June, and the setting was made available for accounts outside the UK on a larger scale at the beginning of July 2026, ahead of any potential similar legislation in other regions.
The nuance that should be noted about this update is that Top Stories carousels, as a feature of regular search, began appearing within AI Overviews for a certain number of trending news queries. On the one hand, a site owner who wants to opt out of AI Overviews would likely want to exclude their content from any AI-related features. In contrast, Top Stories sections on the search results page are explicitly not presented in this context as AI features, which means that a publisher may not have intended to relinquish such rights. Google’s official guidelines do not currently address this nuance.
That’s the wrap for today, stay ahead with DTalks !
