Instagram introduces Indian languages in AI translation
Instagram has introduced two India-specific updates aimed at improving accessibility and creative tools for users in one of its largest markets. The changes focus on regional language support and features designed to help creators reach wider audiences.
The platform is expanding Meta AI translations for Reels to five additional Indian languages: Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Marathi. Until now, translations were available in English, Hindi, Spanish and Portuguese. The update will allow creators to translate audio in Reels across these languages while retaining the original voice quality. An optional lip-sync feature can also adjust mouth movements to match the translated audio.
Google tests mobile search feature linking AI overviews to AI mode
This is probably not great news for web managers who are concerned that they’re losing traffic to AI chatbots.
Google has launched a new test that will guide users into its “AI Mode” chatbot experience direct from Search results.
As you can see in this sequence, now, for users in the test at least, if you tap on the “Show More” prompt on the AI Overview response to your query, a new “Ask anything” prompt will be displayed in the lower screen of the SERP. If you then go to ask a follow-up question, you’ll be transferred from traditional Search and into Google’s AI chatbot window instead.
AI Poisoning: Black Hat SEO Is Back
For as long as online search has existed, there has been a subset of marketers, webmasters, and SEOs eager to cheat the system to gain an unfair and undeserved advantage.
Black Hat SEO is only less common these days because Google spent two-plus decades developing ever-more sophisticated algorithms to neutralize and penalize the techniques they used to game the search rankings. Often, the vanishingly small likelihood of achieving any long-term benefit is no longer worth the effort and expense.
Now AI has opened a new frontier, a new online gold rush. This time, instead of search rankings, the fight is over visibility in AI responses. And just like Google in those early days, the AI pioneers haven’t yet developed the necessary protections to prevent the Black Hats riding into town.
AI Ads Agent in Google
Google will launch Ads Advisor and Analytics Advisor this month. Google’s new AI agent will be able to:
- Create a full campaign from a single sentence
- Pick the right bidding strategy
- Set budget, locations, keywords
- Create Ads in bulk
- Ask for approval before launching
- And deliver clean reports automatically
The claim is that this isn’t automation or an AI assistant, but a full media buyer that runs on AI. Instead of making suggestions or answering questions, they take action and complete tasks on their own.
While this sounds enticing to anyone looking to streamline budgets and still use Google Ads as a primary marketing channel, what we know about Google-run advertising is that trusting it as a strategic campaign builder can quickly go awry. We also know that human understanding of brand and cross-channel marketing strategies are crucial to making any paid advertising successful.
Amazon’s qcom blitz: 2 new dark stores a day, 300 by year-end across 3 cities
Amazon Now, the quick commerce (qcom) arm of e-commerce giant Amazon, on Monday said it is accelerating its instant delivery service, targeting opening two new micro fulfillment centers every day.
Overall, a total of 300 new stores will be set up in Bengaluru, Delhi and Mumbai, the cities where the instant grocery delivery service is already available.
Why is Amazon Now accelerating its expansion?
Speaking on the expansion plans, Samir Kumar, country manager at Amazon India, said, “We are excited to see customer response to Amazon Now and have accelerated our expansion plans. We will end the year at well over 300 micro-fulfilment centres and are not slowing down — opening two such centres a day across Bengaluru, Delhi and Mumbai.”
Community-driven platforms are critical for brand discovery in the generative AI era
The insight: Generative AI tools are pulling heavily from community-driven platforms, prompting a shift in how companies think about search, social, PR, content, and product messaging.
Reddit, Wikipedia, YouTube, Facebook, and other open forums make up the majority of sources LLMs cite, per Semrush; Reddit alone appears in 40.1% of all genAI citations. That means AI relies far more on community conversation than on brand-owned pages.
The outcome is a new cross-channel reality: AI frequently amplifies community consensus over brand-produced material.
Because AI assistants integrate conversations, reviews, and public commentary directly into responses, teams that once operated independently—SEO, social, communications, product marketing—now influence visibility in shared ways. AI does not separate on-site content, social chatter, or earned media; it blends them into a single response that users often treat as authoritative.
