Swiggy Launches Live Events Vertical ‘Scenes’, Takes on Zomato’s ‘District’
Earlier this month, food delivery platform Swiggy launched its new consumer vertical for live events and ticketed experiences, “Scenes”. This move comes weeks after rival company Zomato’s launched its “District” app, offering similar services.
Currently, “Scenes” is live in Delhi-NCR, Bengaluru, and Mumbai, according to the Financial Express. The service is available within the Swiggy app alongside other offerings such as Instamart, Dineout, and Genie.

Ahead of the year-end festive season, the interface of “Scenes” remains dominated by Christmas and New Year celebratory events. Through the portal, users can avail and make reservations for live music events, DJ nights, culinary events, and brunches hosted by partner restaurants/businesses.
However, Zomato’s “District” is a standalone app that offers ticketing services for movies, events (like stand-up comedy shows, New Year parties, musical performances), and other dining experiences.
Google Unveils Most Advanced Quantum Chip Willow
Google has announced the creation of Willow, its fastest and most advanced quantum computer chip to date.
Revealed on Monday, the chip boasts excellent metrics and capabilities that help it reduce errors exponentially, fixing a 30-year problem in the field.
Willow’s processing speed enables it to compute a standard benchmark equation in only five minutes, one that would normally take a top-of-the-line supercomputer 10 septillion years.
Google used the random circuit sampling (RCS) benchmark to measure Willow’s performance. Pioneered by Google’s team, RCS is the hardest possible benchmark for a quantum computer that is a standard in the field.
YouTube tests voice reply feature for comments
YouTube is trialling a new feature allowing creators to respond to comments on their videos with voice notes, aiming to enhance interactions on the platform.
The feature, currently available to a limited number of creators in the United States, enables creators to post personalised audio replies directly to comments. Explaining the update, YouTube said, “We’re experimenting with a feature that enables creators to reply to comments with their voice. If you’re a creator in the test group, you can click the sound wave icon when responding to a comment > record a voice reply > then post it as a comment. While we gather feedback in the experiment phase, voice replies can only be left by creators on their own channel via the YouTube app on iOS, but all viewers and creators can engage with these comments.”
